Rocky Mountain National Park

I spend a lot of time in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's the closest national park to where I live, and contains some of the finest scenery in the Rocky Mountains. It's a great place to hike, but it's an even better place to snowshoe, because it holds its snow better than almost anywhere else near Denver. Anyway, I take a lot of pictures in the park, and occasionally I even get some good ones.

Bear Lake in the winter. The cool looking mountain in the background on the left is the east face of Hallett Peak (you can't actually see the top of Hallett from here).

Looking across Dream Lake towards Emerald Lake, Hallett Peak, etc., into Tyndall Gorge in the spring when the streams are just beginning to flow. I don't know the name of the creek; I wish I did, but none of the maps I have name it. It's probably called Tyndall Creek or something.

Dream Lake again, looking towards Hallett Peak and Tyndall Gorge. This picture was taken in the late fall when the lakes were frozen but before the snow started getting deep.

Hallett Peak over Bear Lake, also late fall.

A tree stump that I thought looked interesting. This was near the base of Estes Cone.

Hallett Peak over Bear Lake in early fall.

Nymph Lake in the fall.

Dream Lake in the fall, with Hallett Peak and the Tyndall Gorge in the background.

Emerald Lake. That's Hallett again to the left.

Looking east from Tyndall Gorge just below Dream Lake. That's Longs Peak in the middle. This was taken early in the fall, right before the peak of the fall colors.

Lake Haiyaha in Chaos Canyon. That's the south side of Hallet Peak behind it.

The Loch from the east, looking into Loch Vale.

The Loch again, from a little farther west.

Andrews Glacier and its little glacial lake, up past treeline.
