About the images

All of the pictures on the photography pages were taken with either the Fuji S1 (using various Nikon AF-D lenses) or Canon S300 ELPH digital cameras.

Most of the pictures taken with the Fuji S1 were taken at the camera's full resolution (3040x2016), though some were taken at the lower resolution of 2304x1536. All of the pictures taken with the Canon S300 were taken with the camera's maximum resolution of 1600x1200. The pictures were then cropped and rescaled (as appropriate) for the web page using the GIMP on a Linux box, creating a an array of "full-size" images (usually 720x480 or 640x480 pixels) and smaller thumbnails (usually 120x80 or 120x90 pixels) for the web pages themselves.
