The Garden of the Gods

The Garden of the Gods is quite photogenic, and was among the first things I ever took pictures of in Colorado, both with my digital camera and my film camera in the days before I went digital. It's one of the nicest city parks you'll find anywhere, and rewards anyone who hikes off of the paved trails to the more "remote" parts of the park. It's also pretty much a clinic for landscape photographers.

The view from the Palmer Trail, looking down towards the center of the park. That's Cheyenne Mountain off to the right.

The view from very near the center of the park, looking north. You need to do a little climbing to get there, but it seems like everybody does it.

Early morning from near the main parking lot, looking south.

A nice spot I found.

The Kissing Camels. This is the one I call my "postcard" shot, since it's not too difficult to find pretty much this exact picture on postcards (minus the snow).

The Siamese Twins, with Pikes Peak in the background.

Pikes Peak through the middle of the Siamese Twins.

I call this one "Lizard Rock." It's really the side view of a formation we usually refer to as "the 'Shrooms."

Pikes Peak from the Ridge Trail (assuming I remember the name of the trail correctly).

The Garden of the Gods from Mesa Road, above the visitor's center.
